Bob's Eyes

Wednesday August 6, 2025 Guerneville CA.

I got a call the other day that my beef was ready for pickup, so today I drove on over to the butcher shop to pick it up. I had twelve big boxes of it. A young lad loaded the boxes in the car and I headed on home with it to put it away before it warmed up too much.

I have two big freezers and one was empty. I was hoping the empty freezer would hold the whole animal, so I began the task of hauling the boxes to the freezer and started putting it all in there, packing it carefully so as to get it all to fit.

It wasn’t going to fit

As careful as I was, it was more than that one freezer would hold so I began putting the excess in the second freezer but soon was running out of room in that one too.

I had to take some of the older stuff out of that freezer and feed it to the chickens.

I was just able to get all the meat packed in and was now beat.

I napped for some time and that was pretty much my day.

Nice to have a big supply of beef in the freezers/

Flat tire

Tom’s tractor got a flat tire this morning, so he took it off and down to the tire guys to get it repaired.

Old cars

I had an appointment today sometime between 12 and four for a guy to come by with his tow truck to haul my old cars away to a wrecking yard.

These two old cars are headed out today.

The gluy showed up around three to do the paper work and remove both cars.

And then he hooked onto the other old car.

I watched as my old cars left the yard. I got good use out of those cars and in some ways hated to see them go.

Pies

I went over to visit Dominique, a pie expert, to see what she was baking. Two pies, one blackberry and the other one is blackberry-peach. Looking good.

Trail cam cards

A bit later in the day I hopped on a dirt bike and rode on up into the hills to collect my trail cam cards. I stopped at the little pond to collect the trail cam card there.
