Getting ready to go
I drove out of the Kofa this morning around noon. I had some stuff to do in Quartzsite to get ready for the trip we are off to tomorrow, The Mojave Road Trail.
Marty and Patti are taking their van and I’m going in my van.
Trip planning
So I made it to Marty’s where I was going to tighten my fan belts. But it started to rain right after I got there so we did some trip planning trying to figure just where this trail starts. I think we can find it. :O) Marty says I have to lead on this trip but I don’t know exactly where we are going as he did all the previous trip planning.
We’ll figure it out as we go,…… that’s exploring.
Van prep
So anyway the rain quit and I got my tarp and tools out and tightened up the fan belts and checked a few other things as long as I was at it.
Then I went over to the Pit Stop and filled all my water jugs, abut 12 gallons.
Next I bought a steak I’ll be taking a chance on hoping for no corn stuff.
Night camp
That was all done and I went back to Marty’s place for a bit then headed out to this place, east of town where I spent the night.
Last Minute and Chocolate ice cream
We’ll be leaving tomorrow headed north on 95 and have some last minute things to do on the way. Like replace one of Marty’s van’s tires as he punched a hole in one the other day and I need to do a little shopping and I’m still hoping to find some Tillamook chocolate ice cream someplace soon. :O)
We may or may have internet access out on the desert for a few days unless Patti’s phone gets a lock.
This should be an adventure. This is one of the first trails they used to come west and it wasn’t easy with horses.
Nice easy day.
Now that sounds like a fun trip for you all!
Good luck with the ice cream search.
Safe journey!
Have a great adventure!
