I wanted to finish getting the dirt out of the chicken pen so I got out the tools and started on it. I figured I had about 10 loads of dirt to move to get it done and I was almost right. I lost count and it took somewhere between 8 and ten loads to get it done.This is the part that needed the dirt removed.
Back’s getting sore
I got a good start on it before I needed a break. I wasn’t sure my back was going to make it so I tried to take it easy.
Dirt is out
After another break or two I got all the dirt out that I wanted to remove.
This is the last load of dirt and my back barely made it and was a bit sore by now.
Dirt dump area
This is the area I had to go to, to dump the dirt. I’m filling up part of this low spot in the yard and the chickens are helping spread the dirt out.
Moving woodchips
My back wasn’t really into it but I got about three loads of woodchips in the pen before giving my back a good break.
It was a good start on the woodchips but it needed more after a good break.
I took that break and let the chickens do their thing spreading it out some.
Camera mount
After a break that included a nap I did a test mount on this camera clamp mount to see how it would work on the dirt bike. I’ll have to give it a real test soon to test it out proper.
Property taxes
I checked the mail box and there was a letter in there from the county tax guys. Seems I didn’t pay my taxes last year. Hummm. Maybe it was because I didn’t receive my tax bill in the mail. Odd, but I also didn’t receive my van’s license renewal in the mail either last year. Maybe someone is messing with my mail.
Anyway I went online and promptly paid the taxes.
Back to work
In the evening I moved a bunch more woodchips to the pen and even put a pile in the mulch container for the chickens to dig in.
Done for now
That finishes off that part of the pens. I have a bit more in another pen that I may or may not get to.
The rest of the evening I chair hopped around with the chickens.
There are over a hundred pictures that are served up randomly every time you visit or change pages. They are of earlier pictures of interest and also some just to remind me of things.
A Sony AX33 4K, a video camera that takes stills too. What am I doing with that? I take pictures from my Kayak a lot. I found I was missing interesting shots, because my pic was being processed in my camera, before it would let me take another pic. Since I like to take what I call action stills, I bought this camera to take videos, that I could make stills out of, but, as a bonus, this camera also came with buttons to just take stills and that's what I mostly do, unless something is real interesting or too far away for my still zooms. My digilat zoom setting for video goes to two hundred x, and sometimes I need that, but usually, I only use the 10x lens zoom. Because this camera is HD and 4K, the quality has to be real good and it has a lot of stabilizers on it which really helps out a lot for taking pics on the water.
The other thing it has that is a must is a view finder and I had to buy Sony's top of the line cam to get it. This is a must for taking pics on the water, as you must hold the camera as still as posible and putting that eye piece to the eye forms a tripod with your arms that helps a lot. The eye piece is also a must as it works way better than a LED screen to see what you are taking a picture of in the daylight as the LED screens wash out easily in sunlight.
I also have another video camera, a Canon VIXIA G30. I use them both to mostly take stills. The Sony takes higher resolution stills than the G30. That was a bit of a disappointment as I bought the G30 to replace an older camera I dunked in the river, but then had to buy the Sony to get higher still picture resolution that the G30 was lacking.
