Ride in the forest
Barry came over early today to go for a dirt bike ride by himself as he wanted to go ride up in the steeper stuff where I don’t need to go.
He was back in an hour or so and then I joined him for a ride on the less steep stuff.
After riding around a bit, we made it up to our rest area for a break.
Barry says, let’s go. It’s hard for me to get photos during the ride as I’m too busy staying on the bike, but we do go through some nice areas.
After Barry left for home, I went in for a nap as riding a dirt bike in the hills does tire one out. It’s a lot of work just staying on the bike in the hills, so one does get quite a bit of exercise even though there is no pedaling involved.
That nap took longer than I thought before I got it going again.
Power
I worked on getting some power to my new welding work bench but didn’t get it all done as I think I need some more wire to get it hooked up, which I don’t have yet.
Apple time
Apples are getting ripe. I went over to my neighbors to steal some as those are the best ones. Lots of the apples have fallen. They pick them up to make apple cider vinegar out of them.
But I like the ones on the tree so I picked a few of them. These apples are not sprayed and some have worm holes in them. Most people don’t know that if you can see a worm hole, the worm has left the apple, so you just eat around the hole. That’s the trade off for no spray on the apples. If you look carefully, you can usually fine some without any hoes in them which means that no worms got into those ones or there would be holes like in the other ones. They all leave about the same time, so this works.
This is my apple stash that I’ll eat from throughout the day when I have an apple urge.
Nice day.
Bike riding will definitely keep you in shape … and it’s fun to boot!! Those apples … wow!! That’s one thing we never had … fruit trees. Those trees are producing like CRAZY!!
Yes, a dirt bike is some exercise. For sure. Lovely apples, hope some are tart. Impossible to get tart ones here in TX. A long time ago, there were some in the groceries, but no longer. When I lived in NY, I was amazed to see apples lying all over the place, getting run over, ignored, etc. Such richness.
We’ve also been overwhelmed with the number of apples this year. For us, it is more than I’ve ever seen up here in our 8 years. What will you make, Bob?
