Leaving the Desert and Back To the Plumas National Forest

Tuesday October 1, 2024 Janesville CA.

Spring pond camp

We were sitting around here this morning when Marty decided to try his hand at fishing. He set up his fishing rig to give it a try.pond1

We got on the road and stopped at this historic marker. We are traveling on one of the immigrate trails that went west for some of the first settlers that traveled with horses and wagons.marker4

These guys only had horses and wagons and not much of a road when they went through here in 1860. We had it pretty good compared to what they had to go through.marker3

Donkeys

We passed by these donkeys.donkeys5

They were a nice looking bunch and not scared of us as we passed them by.donkeys6

We traveled down this road.roads7

We made it out of the dessert and into Janesville CA. for gas.janeville12

After gassing up, we headed back into the Plumas forest to a beaver pond camp we knew about and have been to before. We made camp here for the night.camp12

Our camp overlooks part of the beaver pond.pond13

Nice day.
