Tuesday December 6, 2016 Jenner CA.
A bit windy today
The wind was up a little as I put my boat in the water at Jenner around noon. I paddled across the river to Penny Island and headed on up the river.
I passed by this great white egret fishing along the shoreline.
I continued on up the river slowly, along here.
Geese can sure make a lot of noise
Some geese were honking across the river from me.
I paddled up to this spot I call Eagle’s Landing and went ashore.
Walked down river on this trail
I walked down river along here going only a short ways.
A nice spot to take it easy
Then returned to this spot where the boat was and sat down and watched things and enjoyed the day.
Eventually, I put my boat back in the water and headed down the river along here.
Big redwood stumps make good wind breaks
I stopped behind this big redwood stump to get out of the wind which wasn’t has bad as when I put in earlier.
I went by the fishing egret again. It was fishing and seemed to be catching some tiny little fish.
I thought about paddling on down to the river’s mouth, but just felt too lazy, so I headed on in to the boat ramp for the day.
Drove on down to the overlook
Instead of going home, I drove down to the overlook at the river’s mouth which looked like this looking south, the river on the left and the ocean on the right. That’s Goat Rock down there, just above center.
The river’s mouth is open and the sun was on it’s way down, looking out the mouth and into the ocean.
I headed on home and that was my day.
