Avocados, Potatoes, Eggs and a Hike and a Dirt Bike Ride

Hike in the hills

This is the 6th day of my fast so I need to conserve energy to do much of anything. I did want to push the exercise a bit today just to give my body a little work out but not too much to beat me.

So I hopped on the dirt bike and rode up to this spot and parked for a walk.bike

I didn’t want a lot of ups and downs so I tried to keep the walk more or less horizontal going out his road until I got to the end of it.road

Through the forest

I was able to keep the walk horizontal except for going over and around logs. I went over this one.forest

And I made it over these logs going around some of them.trail

Some places were easier to go than others, at least some of the time. I was taking it very slow as not to wear myself out too much as I had to make my way back.trees

Headed back

I went back a different way so I didn’t have to climb over so many logs through this area.hike

That was a nice walk through an area that I hadn’t been before.

Chickens and eggs

As long as I was on the dirt bike I went for  a little ride around a few roads and them headed on home for a nap.

Back home the chickens were lined up to get into the front yard so I let them out into it.chickens

I collected the eggs. These are from over a week as they are molting and don’t lay many eggs at this time of year. I’ve been getting about 4 eggs a day for over 25 mature laying hen. I hope they improve around the first of the year.eggs

Watching for rats

Another thing I wanted to do was  move my cam to a different spot on the roof to watch for where rats are getting into my attic. I plugged up another spot I was watching but I still hear some of them up there so I know there’s another spot they are using to get in, maybe more.cam

Potatoes and avocados

Toward evening my brother Tom brought me over this box of potatoes and avocados. He grew the potatoes but he’d been picking up the avocados off my tree which I didn’t know about. It appears the old avocado tree is starting to kick in with some fruit after all these years about thirty years since I planted the tree. We think the frost knocks them off but they still look good.eats

I spent the rest of the evening until dark out sitting around with my chickens as they grazed away.evening

I waited for them to go to the roost and shut them up for the night and went on in myself.

My fast

This is my 6th day of fasting and I learned a bit. I should go for the ten days but with the holiday I’m getting hungry so I took a chicken out of the freezer and am cooking it up with some other goodies too.

I’ll have to do some more fasting later as it does seem to improve my corn reaction thing a bit as doing that I know for sure I’m not getting any type of corn into my system.

Nice day.
