Forest work
I had a few things I wanted to check out up in the forest so I hopped in Hondo and headed up into the forest, stopping here at this spring crossing. It needs a bit of repair as the water is getting out of the ditch and running down the road.
I just used the shovel to put some dirt in the leak part. Easy.
Green ferns
I continued on up the road to this spot in the ferns. It’s an old spring I wanted to check out to see if there was enough water to warrant a tap. There was some water, but not very much to make it worth doing.
From there I rode up and over the hill and down this trail.
I stopped here at this spring to do some digging. It had an old plastic pipe in it, but it wasn’t flowing much water.
Spring up here
I followed the plastic pipe up the little ravine to where the pipe went under the ground.
The pipe went underground here and under some big rocks too, so I started digging to find out where it went.
I dug quite a bit and didn’t get very far, but it was a start. I’ll dig some more at another time.
I made my way back down the little ravine to where my rig was parked through here.
I rode around in the hills checking this and that and just enjoying the day and then headed on home for a nap.
