Yard work
I cut these bushes back the other day and forgot about them. I saw them today so I hauled them off to my habitat pile about a hundred feet across the yard.
Feed mixing
The chicken feed barrel was getting real low so I mixed up some seeds filling the barrel up.
Forest work
Then I hopped in Hondo and rode up into the forest to have a look at some stuff.
Spring crossing
I dug this out enough to check it out, yesterday with Skiddy. There’s a spring on the other side of this road that crosses the road in a pipe. I needed to find that pipe and see what I’d need to do to clean it out. It’s in the puddle somewhere.
I used a shovel to dig a small ditch to drain the water down a bit.
It exposed the top of a pipe that is mostly plugged up. The neighbor says he has a fire hose and portable pump and can clean this out, so I’ll let him have a go at it. But first we have to make a drainage ditch which he can also do with his little backhoe.
Old spring road
Next I drove up the old spring road of my cousin’s that I opened up the other day. The gas cans are my cousin’s gas she uses for the pump to pump the spring water up to her house.
I wanted to have another look at all these downed trees as I’d like to park up there. Some of the downed tree tops are hanging over her water tank and might crash into the tank if I try to cut them out. Looking at them again to see if I could do something with them, I decided it would be best to leave them alone. Not my problem. I’ll find another place to park.
Clearing brush
I spent some time cutting the brush on the left side of the road back. I made a dent in it.
Spring
I stopped at this spring with intentions on digging it out and redoing it with blue clay as it’s leaking a bit. I looked at it and just got a drink of water instead and will work on it some other time when I’m in the mood.
I was in the mood for a break so I headed for this break spot and had a nice break there, just enjoying the day.
Pond
I stopped by the pond and was surprised it had risen some more. The springs must be increasing their water supply as it hasn’t rained.
Sticks
You can see the sticks in the water that are upright that were my water height markers that marked the shore line are under water.
I worked my way home from there for a nap.
A bit later, I fueled up Skiddy with diesel using my transfer pump.
Nice day.
