No power today
It went off just before I got up, so that changed what I was going to do today which was to work on the van’s electrical fan hookup wires.
Forest work
Instead, I gassed and oiled up the big chainsaw and hopped on the quad runner to ride up into the forest where I knew there were some downed trees across the roads.
First one
I cut this one off the road in quick order.
Then I rode over to this spot and cut up the one behind the quad runner.
This one was a bit more work than the other ones.
Drink of water
I knew where there was a larger one that needed some work so I headed on up to it, stopping at the new spring for a drink of water.
The big one
This one leaned over during a slide last winter and when it rains hard again, it is likely to finish coming down on the road.
Cutting it up
I was working on cutting it up into smaller pieces so I could get it off the road.
It wasn’t long before I had the road cleared so I could proceed.
I knew there was one more but I couldn’t remember where it was. I didn’t find it, but I found two other small ones I had forgot about.
Water tanks
I always stop here to check the water level in the tanks so I know how much watering I can do. With all the rain we had last winter, I can water the yard a lot this year. The tanks were full.
So when I got home, I turned on some sprinklers.
Kayak
My kayak has been up on the van’s roof since I got back from my trip. I needed to take it off and haul it over to the car I bought a couple months ago. I need to make a loading and unloading arm for the car to help load and unload it more easily.
I have such an arm on the van and am using it to take the kayak off.
Here’s the little arm in action.
It slides in when not in use and for higher rigs is very handy and makes the job much easier.
Nice day.
Who needs power?
A good day even without power!
Nice little arm set up for your kayak loading.
