Forest ride

I could see Barry was here earlier and was out for a bike ride without me. I hopped on my bike and headed up into the hills to see if I could find him, mostly by listening for his bike’s sounds. I never did hear him but I ran into him here at the Guerneville overlook.

We took off for a ride around the forest and stopped at the little pond for a drink.

There was only a little water left in the pond.

We decided to go over to a neighbor’s for a visit so we had to open this gate to get there.

Looking west we could see the fog was sneaking over the mountain tops from the ocean.

The neighbor’s lived at the top so we rode out this road to get to their place.

We found Grandma and the kids home so we visited for a bit.

The little kids were having fun playing with Grandma.

Eventually we made it back to my house and I went in for a nap.

Little Bryce

I heard a knock and found Little Bryce at my door. He’s the kid of an old friend I used to play with as a kid.

We had a nice visit.

Nice day.

Monday August 11, 2025 Guerneville CA.

I drove on over and crossed the river to a piece of our family property we are planning on selling. Tom and Barry are working on getting some of the forest cleared of brush so I thought I’d check out what they were doing.

I found Barry gassing up his chainsaw.

Barry was helping Tom clear some of the forest, when he needed help with the chainsaw.

Most of the time Barry could just take it easy.

Until Tom needed some stuff trimmed with the chainsaw.

Tom’s tractor was doing most of the work.

Barry takes a break when he can.

The brush is pretty thick with lots of poison oak.

Barry trimming some brush back so the tractor can get through.

They knocked a lot of brush back and are getting the job done.

Eventually, I went back home and left them at it to get the job done.

Nice day.
