Some Work, a Forest Walk and Repairing My Pulaski Handle

Rehab work

Once I got it going I rode the dirt bike up to this road and did some forest fire rehab work on a  small fire break for an hour or so with the dozer.road2

Walk

After that I went for a walk up this fire break area to see what needed to be done. Just a little touch up here and there and it would be done.road

I continued my walk through this creek. Lots of fallen maple leaves on the ground. This creek only runs in the winter when it rains.leaves

What’s that

I spotted this thing so went over to see what it was. It appeared to be what was left of a grey squirrel that something ate a short time ago. Seems they didn’t like the tail.tail

I walked down through here and back to the dirt bike.shed

Headed home

I hopped on the dirt bike and headed for home stopping at this gate which I had to unlock and open and crossed the road over to my place.gate

Pulaski repair

After checking on the chickens and taking a bit of a nap I came back outside and removed the piece of broken handle out of one of  my Pulaski’s. I’ll get a new handle and repair it soon. I took the wooden block out so I can find the handle that will fit this thing.handle

Then I climbed up on my roof where I’ve had the cam setup to watch for rats. I  haven’t seen any rats up here so I’m moving the cam to a place in the yard to watch for critters in the night.cam

It was getting dark just as I finished moving the cam to it’s  new location.

The last thing to do today was shut the chickens up for the night so I did that and went in the house for the day.

Nice day.

If you weren’t squeamish, you could make a squirrel tailed hat!
Sounds like a good day for some puttering around.
I agree with Nancy, glad the rats have vacated now let’s see what’s roaming the yard!

Game cameras are really fun. You may be surprised at what wanders through your yard. Glad you haven’t found any more rats.
