Van Domestic Chores and Puttering Around the Yard

Thursday June 15, 2017 Guerneville CA.

Windy at Jenner but just breezy at home

With the winds blowing down at Jenner I decided to stay home and more or less putter all day so that’s what I did.

Saved that grape plant

I moved the water around watering different plants, especially my new grape cuttings that I transplanted last winter. One of the new grape plants was looking rather poorly so a shot of water seems to have been just what it needed.

Van domestic chores

One of the things I’ve been wanting to do was to clean the carpet in the van. This carpet came with the van when I purchased it. I did cut it in half and it’s been holding up well.

But it has been getting a bit dirty after repeated uses of me tracking stuff into the van.

I got some soap and a broom and soaped the carpet down and scrubbed it a bit and let it soak and scrubbed it some more.rugsoap

Then I washed copious amounts of dirt out of them until the water ran clean.rugwash

I put them out in the sun to dry which will take awhile as they are full of water.

Checked out the van’s transmission linkage

I also went under the van to check out my transmission linkage to see if it was adjusted properly as my shifter has been a little rough lately, or at least it seems so, but it might just be me as these old shifters are sorta that way anyway compared to modern stuff. The alignment seemed to be ok, so at least I looked at it.

Always lots of weeds to pull

I pulled some of those weeds that came up in my driveway too, but there was more than I wanted to deal with all at once, but at least I got a start on them.

Other than that, I spent a good deal of time just sitting around the yard enjoying things.

And that was my day.
