Sore, sore, sore
Needles to say I was real sore from all the shoveling I did yesterday so I took it easy today.
I did do a little work but it was easy stuff.
Some cleanup
I cleaned out this area so I can extend a fence across here to keep the chickens in this part of the property, I hope.
Checking how much sand is in the well
I was wondering how much sand was in the bottom of my well so I got the string with a weight and measured to the bottom of the well. It measured 47 feet to the bottom and I know the well was 54 feet deep so that means there’s about 7 feet of sand at the bottom. That’s not really too bad for this well, so maybe I’ll try to get the sand out or maybe I won’t. We’ll see. Right now I have too much to do.
Ivy is tough stuff
After that and a good break I worked on removing some of this ivy around the well site. That was harder than I thought it would be as the stuff puts down a lot of roots and really tangles itself up.
Did some supply figuring
Other than that, I just chair hopped and worked on figuring out what supplies I need to finish off the chicken project.
That was pretty much my day. It was a pleasant one as far as the temperature so sitting around was real nice.
we certainly get reminders that we aren’t as young as we used to be after a day of good hard work. I find just bending over in the garden laying mulch plays havoc on my legs and back. LOL Getting old isn’t always fun but it beats the alternative.
