Moving Bridges, Getting Rock and Bumper Work

Friday April 19, 2024 Guerneville CA.

Bridges

I needed to move my bridges out of the way and I can barely pick one end up to move them so I made this track out of each of them and dragged each one down the track until they were all moved.metal1

I piled them up  here and need to get them installed eventually. I need to move then about a half mile where they get installed, so it will be awhile before I get to that.bridges2

Bumper welding

I got my welding gear out and set up to finish welding the pipes on the bumper and the welding would be done.welding3

After doing the welding, I needed to let the bumper cool as it was too hot to handle.

Rocks

I drove up to here to load the buckets up with rocks for my BBQ area.rocks4

Back home, I loaded the rocks in the buckets into the wheel barrel and took them to the BBQ area and unloaded and leveled the rock.rocks5

Sanding the bumper

By now the bumper had cooled down enough to  handle it so I moved it into this position to do some sanding on it, to clean it up.sanding6

I rigged a sling to left the bumper up with Skiddy so I can finish sanding it and get it painted.chain7

This is what the bumper looks like before paint.bumper

But the day was done, so the paint will wait.

Nice day.

That looks quite a bit different from what you first started out with. When you are creating something, plans change and the final result often looks different that the forst idea. Looks like it will provide plenty of protection for the rear of the machine.
