Dead battery
Since my car has been sitting around while I was on a trip, the battery was too dead to start the car today, so I put the charger on it for about a half hour or so.
After that, I took it for a ride down the road and back a couple miles. When I got home, I shut it off and tried the starter again and it started, so that would be good enough to go over to the shopping centers to pickup my new cart for my welders that had come in.
I will put the charger back on the car when I get back.
Need a battery disconnect switch
And I’m also going to invest in a battery disconnect switch so I can disconnect the battery when I’m not using the car much. These newer cars have so many sensors for everything that they drain the battery even if the car is not used and not used makes the problem worse as the sensors just drain the juice away.
Got the cart
Everything worked out ok and I got the big box home.
Some assembly required
I got the big heavy box unloaded being careful of my back and had a quick look at the directions as I had to put the casters and some parts on the cart.
I first tried installing the casters with the cart on it’s side, but my back was screaming in a short time, so I had to wise up if I was going to get the job done.
I carefully turned the unit upside down so I didn’t have to bend over so much and got the casters mounted, which was much easier on my back.
I carefully got the cart turned right side up and loaded some of my welding supplies in it so I knew where to adjust the shelves.
The reason I got this cart is to put my welders on top of it and so I had a place for the welding supplies so they wouldn’t be stored all over the place anymore. I still need to put some electrical plug hookups on it, but not today.
The rest of the day, I took it easy to give my sore back a break and I needed a nap too.
I was happy to get that part done as when I get this all done, I can finally use my new welding equipment which I’ve had for several months now.
Nice day.
