Looking For Lumber and Messing With Old Mowers

Puttering around

I need some wood to build some kind of protection over my new well stuff. I thought I remembered some lumber up in an old shed up in the woods that might work so I needed to go check it out.

I jumped on the dirt bike and rode up through here to get to the shed.

Here’s the old shed I rode up to.

Lumber

There was some lumber there but it was a little on the large size for what I needed, so I decided to leave it for now and think about it for a bit and maybe find something more suitable. Maybe I should just use the lumber off the pallets.

Out of gas

So I rode back home and thought I might mow some weeds around the house but I knew I was out of gas so I drove on down to town to get some.

On the way home I stopped to visit with John for a bit.

And when I got home I needed a nap.

That wasn’t going to work

After that I filled the old mower up with gas and pulled the rope about twice before it the rope wouldn’t return so I got some tools out and found out the recoil spring had broken. I tried to repair the spring but it would just break again so I gave up on that idea and  had another nap.

Mower/trimmer

After the nap I wen online to look for a new mower motor but couldn’t find what I was looking for to replace this one. So I did some chair hopping around the yard when I realized I still had this mower/trimmer someone gave to me that I’ve never used so I thought maybe I’d give it a try, but not today.

I also realized the motor on the mower/trimmer was just what I needed on the other mower so if I don’t like using this machine I can put this engine on the other old mower.

I didn’t really have much energy today so I mostly just puttered around the yard with the chickens.
