Old Bridge
My friend Marty came by around noon for a visit. After sitting down and shooting the bull for a bit we went over to have a look at the old bridge that part of it’s base washed out in the last big storm. The part that washed out was real old and rotten and just gave away when the water got high, I’ll have to build some kind of metal structure to put it all back together.
There’s still enough of the old structure left to support the bridge and the bridge isn’t used a lot anymore so there’s no real danger of it collapsing.
Quad Runner shifter extension
Marty has been having a hard time shifting the quad runner when we go for a ride as his older foot just doesn’t want to work too well for shirting so he made this lever to extend the foot shifter so he can shift it by hand.
He built it at home and brought it over to try it out. At first he was having trouble making it work, but eventually he got it mounted right and it looked like it was going to do the job and it did.
Forest ride and work
I gassed up the small chainsaw and we rode up into the forest looking for downed trees across the roads.
This was the first one we stopped at. I cut it up and Marty moved it off the road.
We rode on by this nice little water pool. Water was just popping on out of the ground from the recent rains.
We stopped here to remove this log off the road, but just beyond that was an even larger log. Too big for the little saw, so we let that one go until I had the larger saw with me. We turned around and took another way up to the Guerneville overlook.
We stopped at the Guerneville overlook for a look and a break before continuing on.
This one was one of the easier ones we removed.
We rode on down to this overlook spot so stopped for a break to enjoy the day for a bit.
We sat there and enjoyed this forest view and shot the bull some.
it was getting late so we headed on back to my house.
Marty took off for home I went in for a nice nap.
Nice day.
Hmm, building a bridge sounds like an interesting challenge.
Your ingenuity is so awesome. You guys always come up with a solution. I’m envious. Can’t wait to see what you do with the bridge!
