Headed for the hills

I think one more day should just about take care of the clean up. The clean up is mostly limbs and trees across the road and rocks on the road. Rocks seem to just roll down the hills and onto the roads when it rains.

This was the first one I stopped at, an easy one.

I made it all the way up to to the top from that last one.

I stopped at this one to clean the sticks and rocks off this stretch of road.

That’s a lot cleaner and will be easier to get by on the dirt bikes too.

And at the bottom of the road, it’s always nice to stop for some water at the spring.

Pond

I stopped at the pond to have a look. It’s taking a while for the water to clear up. Maybe the ravens are still using it to bathe.

I was going down this trail and all was good, until.

I ran into this one, so I got the chainsaw out and cleared it out of the way.

I made it to this one that I knew about.  I wasn’t sure I could clear this one without a machine. I had a look and decided if I could cut the log up,  I might be able to roll things down the hill, so I got to it.

That one was a lot of work.  It’s a good thing I did that one last instead of first or I wouldn’t have gotten much else done today. All clear now, so I moved on up the road, until.

I ran into this one. I was going to turn around, as I didn’t have much energy left, but decided it’s a fairly easy one, so I gave it a go.

All clear, I hope that was the last one for the day.

It was the last one, but I did stop to move these rocks that rolled onto the road.

I made it home for a nap.

Tuesday November 26, 2024 Guerneville CA.

Forest work

I knew where some trees were across the road up in the hills, so I grabbed my chainsaws and headed that way.

I had to stop to remove this little tree, easy work.

I made it to the trees I knew where down and started to cut them up.

I didn’t get far and I was already worn out, so it was break time. I just finished up a ten day fast, so I’m a little short on energy.

I went back to work on that one and got it done after a couple more breaks.

I didn’t get far before I ran into the next ones. I decided I’d get these out and that was enough for one day.

I rode around a bit more and ended up on the ridge top. The little town of Guerneville is down there and a river that floods a lot. It flooded a few days ago, but not very bad.

I realized the rig was about out of gas, so I headed for home. I had to go to town to get some gas and filled it up.

Later in the day, I  headed up into the park to go check on the rock slide to see if it was still open, or needed some work.

The rock slide was in real good shape, so I went on home for the day.
