Wednesday July 16, 2025 Guerneville CA.

I needed to gather some wood for smoking the salmon. I needed wood to make a fire and wood to make smoke.

I had this wood here, so I cut it up to make a wood  for a fire.

And I cut down a plum tree for some wood to make some smoke.

Then I rode on up to the forest to cut some more wood to make smoke, a small madrone tree should do it so I cut it up.

I put the smaller pieces of wood in buckets to make it easier to transport it.

That should be enough wood to get started smoking.

After that, I rode on towards home going through the state park as I wanted to visit with the guys at the park’s shop which I did.

Then home for a nap.

Tuesday July 15, 2025 Guerneville CA.

My beef is to be done in, in a couple of days and I told the Rancher I’d pay him in cash. That meant I needed to get a bunch of cash as one animal isn’t cheap.

I’d tried to transfer some money to the local bank, but I ran into problems getting it done, which meant I’d have to go over to the shopping areas where my money was kept at another bank and get the cash.

I headed for there and got the cash, lots of it. :O)

Costco

As long as I was in the shopping areas, I went to Costco to restock. And since I had lots of time, I spent some time looking around areas of Costco that I normally don’t check out and found a few other things to purchase.

Home

It wasn’t long and I was back home to put stuff away, or at least in the house and it was nap time.

Free salmon

My neighbor, Fred, dropped off some wild caught salmon for me to practice my smoking which I will do soon.
