Picking Up My Car’s New Radiator and Some Other Stuff

Tuesday May 17, 2022 Guerneville CA.

Lazy day?

It was going to be a lazy day as I had nothing planned, except some chair hopping.

Shopping

But at noon I got an email my car’s new radiator was in which meant I had to go to Santa Rosa, about a half hour drive.

Insurance

To do this I had to fill my car’s radiator up with water to make the trip. It has slow leaks so if I was careful I could make the trip. I filled up a gallon jug with water and took it with me  just in case I needed it, but I didn’t.

Van’s spring shackles

So I got it together and headed out first going to the Spring Works to see about getting some spring shackles for my old van. They had to order them like most stuff in this day and age but at least they are on the way so I’ll be able to get the van fixed up.

Car’s radiator

Next I headed down the street to Smoother’s Auto Parts and picked up my new radiator that I had ordered the other day. Just to be sure it was the right one I opened the box and had a look. Looked like the right one.

Shelf brackets

Next I continued on down the road to the hardware store and picked up some fold down shelf brackets so now I hope I  have the right brackets to get the new shelf mounted.

Visiting Johnny

On the way home I stopped to visit with Johnny S. as I had heard he’d had a heart attack recently. He was doing ok and we shot the bull for about an hour or so.

Then I drove the short distance to my house and unloaded my stuff.

Folding shelf bracket problems

After I rested up I had a look at the newer folding shelf brackets. They don’t do exactly what I want after checking them out. I’ll have to study the problem more and see if I can figure something out with some modifications or whatever.

Some more chair  hopping with the chickens and that was my day.

Nice day.
