Planting Three Apricot Trees Between Rain Showers

Saturday February 16, 2019 Guerneville CA.

Showers hard on and off again all day

It was still showering today. Hard on and hard off. I had to get out of it quick to keep from getting wet but it gave me some breaks throughout the day.

Three apricot trees to get planted

I had three holes to dig and three apricot trees to plant.

I dug the first hole here.work

I dug the hole deeper than necessary and back filled it with some tree mulch and dirt.

My helpers

Here I have the first hole dug with a bit of help.digging

I planted that tree and moved on to digging the next hole.

Digging up treasures

I did find some treasures digging the first hole. A steel pan, a shovel head and a glass canning jar about twenty inches below the surface.things

I got the second one planted and moved on to the third one here.chickens

I stopped for a bit to let the chickens do their thing.chicks

Needed a fence too

Here’s the last apricot tree planted and mulched and a small fence around it to keep the chickens from digging it up.tree

After getting that task done there wasn’t much left in the day so I sat around with the chickens until a hard shower forced me inside for the day.

That was it for me today. Good to have that task done.

I think you’ll love your Apricot trees! Such a yummy little fruit and you can dry them for a nice snack. You just have to be patient to wait for the rewards here.
Laughed at your helpers, good thing you added the fence around the trees.
Nice that the day turned out good for some outdoor work.
