Ride Up In the Forest and I Make a Metal Walk To Cross a Creek

Tuesday April 11, 2023 Guerneville CA.

Bike ride

Barry was in the yard with his truck and motor bike as I was getting it going today. I took another drink of coffee and joined him for a ride up into the hills riding around in the forest.varry1

Mushrooms

We headed for the hills and rode around for a bit. This was the first place we stopped to look for some mushrooms. We found some but they were old.shrooms2

Nice out

One of the views as we rode through here.view3

A drink

Eventually we ended up at our main spring for a drink of water.spring3

There’s not much better water than fresh clean spring water popping out of a hillside.spring4

It just keeps coming out of the hillside and doesn’t cost anything.drink4

Ridge top view

From there we made our way up to my cousin’s place to the ridge top.hilltop5

Hammock

Barry decided to put his hammock up for the season.barry6

He crawled into it for a break.hamuck7

I found a place on the ground with some wild flowers. We had a good long break here.flowers8

Eventually we left there and rode around some more, making our way back to my place.

Barry took off for home and I went in and finished my coffee.

Chicken’s roof

Then I went out to put these two metal roofing sheets up on the chickens roost as the plastic ones that were up there took quite a beating last winter.roofing9

Enjoying the day

That didn’t take long, then I did some chair hopping around the yard with the chickens.chickens10

I sat around the yard for most of the afternoon. But a couple hours before dark, I decided to put together a metal bridge, or more like a walk to cross a creek.

Making a metal walk way

I rounded up these short pieces of 8 inch steel channel and took them over to my welder to weld them up to make them long enough for the job.metal11

I welded the pieces up to make a walkway about ten feet long and that was enough for the day.walk12

Nice day.

Just rubbing it in about the spring, aren’t you. Sigh.

Those rails should be perfect for crossing the creek.
I think a hammock up there would be so peaceful. I love mine at the Ridge.
