Using the Dozer to Do Forest Fire Rehab Work

Rehab work

I loaded some oil for the dozer transmission onto the quad runner and rode up into the hills where the dozer was parked.

I topped up the transmission with oil and added some to the hydraulic system too.

Dozer work

I was going to do some rehab work where the forest fire guys worked during the recent forest fire.

Fixing ruts

I especially was looking for places like this where water was running down the road and would eventually carve a big ditch when it rains if I didn’t fix it.

You can see the rut started. I used the dozer to make it run off the road to the left.

I rode around this area repairing any ruts I found and then moved the dozer up the hill further to set up for another day going up this road.

Spring water

I parked the dozer at the old Indian spring which meant I could get a nice drink of fresh spring water.

Walk to the quad

Then I  had to walk back on the road to retrieve the quad runner along this road.

And down this one to the where the quad runner was parked.

By then it was getting close to dark so I headed on home and took care of the chickens and went in for a  nap.

Nice day puttering around in the woods.
