Dozer battery needs charging up
The weather guys said sun today, but it was cloudy and lightly spitting trying to rain most of the day. Not enough to get wet though.
I needed to get the dozer battery charged up as I hadn’t used it in quite some time and the best way to do that is use it a bit.
I transferred some diesel from the barrel to the fuel can and rode the quad up to where the dozer was parked here.
Adding fuel
The first thing I did was dump the fuel into the fuel tank.
Pushing off dead trees
I then drove the dozer around on the roads a bit pushing any dead trees off the road that had fallen during the winter storms.
Wood cutting area
I then returned to the place we are cutting up some wood and parked.
I headed on home from there for a break before starting to load things into the van.
Last minute shopping
After a bit I drove to the town of Guerneville and gassed up the van and did some shopping at Safeway.
Once back home I continued to put stuff in the van.
Added air to the tires for the trip
I checked the air in all the tires and was surprised to find them all at thirty pounds which is a bit low for my van, so I aired them up to forty pounds. I must of forgot to increase the tire pressure after the Great Divide Trip is all I can figure.
So now I’m mostly loaded up and ready to go tomorrow on my way to Quartzite Arizona. That will take a couple days of hard driving and I’ll post when I get a chance.
That’s it for another day.
Safe travels to the Q. Too bad our timing is off, we are soon headed in the ‘home’ direction so won’t be near Quartzsite.
