Our Rental Vanity Top Installation

Sunday January 28, 2024 Guerneville CA.

Vanity day

I’d been waiting a long time for this special order vanity top to come in. It came in once, but Home Depot lost the first one and had to reorder this one. This unit goes in our rental.

Worse part

The worse part of this job turned out to be getting the old one off. It was screwed in with Philips type screws. They were put in at odd angles and it was hard to reach under the sink through the front cabinet doors. Some of them stripped out the Phillips slots which  made the job even harder. I tried to use my electric drill to unscrew some of the screws, but the weird angles and lack of room under there prevented me using that much.

But I finally did get the old top off with  much patience.vanity1

New top

Now a days, they glue the new tops down and don’t use screws. I did install the new faucet before I installed the top to at least make that much easier as there isn’t much room under these things to work on stuff.top

Pipes

The last thing to do was to hook up the water lines and the drain pipes which wasn’t too hard since I pre-installed the faucet first.

Done

I tested out the water and the drain for leaks and all was good. Happy to get this job done.vanity

Nice day.

Looks nice! Under-the-sink work can be a major pain. Glad you got it done.
