Trailer Work and Checking Out Roads In the Forest

Wednesday May 15, 2024 Guerneville CA.

Nice sky

The sky was nice and blue this morning so I did some chair hopping before I got started on my project.sky1

Visitor

I just got started on my project when Kenny showed up. We sat around and shot the bull for awhile and then I kicked him out so I could get some work done on my project/kenny2

Nice saw

My metal cutting saw has been real handy and makes cutting metal easier and much faster than most other ways of cutting it.saw3

Parts

I measured and cut until I had all the pieces cut to size.metal4

Setup

Then I assembled the parts and got them ready to be welded up.welding5

I welded up most of the parts for the trailer and then let them cool.

Headed up into the forest

Since all the parts were real hot, I left them to cool and rode my rig up into the hills to check out my neighbor’s road that I’ll be working on soon. It’s good to study what and how things will be done before  actually doing the work as things usually work out better that way.

Then I rode on over to where Barry checked out an old road the other day and parked here to walk that road. I took my loppers with me as I walked down that road to trim my way.rig6

Most of that old road was pretty nice.road7

But it did need lots of tree trimming to get by and the moving of sticks that were in the way.flat8

Washed out

Eventually, I got to this creek crossing that was washed out, so decided I was tired out enough, so stopped at this spot to return back up the road.washout9

Spring

I made it back to my rig and rode on down to this spring I call White Cup Spring for a drink of water.spring11

From there, I rode on back up this road and headed back to my house.road12

There were a couple of packages waiting for me when I got home.

Van solar hook up stuff

The stuff I need to hook up my solar panels and my new lithium battery had arrived, along with some welding supplies.parts

This is the new controller I need to hook up in my van.controller

Nice day.
