Working In the Forest Is Much Better Than a Gym

Working in the forest

I haven’t done much work up in the forest for awhile on the spring water line burial project so today I got the tools I thought I’d need and rode on up there around noon going up this road.roadup

Got started

I parked here and this is where I started a ditch trail to bury the plastic water line. It needs to be buried to protect it from critters chewing into it and to keep any forest fires from burning it up.pipestart

Working away

With the recent rains the ground was mostly soft so I moved right along making a trail ditch to put the plastic pipe in.ditch

The trial ditch went right through this fallen tree and I didn’t have any tools to deal with it so I did the best I could for now.trail

Done for the day

I decided if I made it down to here it would be enough work for one day and it was. It tired me out good.pipebush

I still have some more work to do on the trail ditch before I can bury the pipe but I put about 200 or so feet of trail ditch in today so that was enough work for one day.

Always something to do in the forest

On the way riding back down the hill I stopped to throw these wind fallen limbs off the road.limbs

And there’s always some fallen rocks on the road that need to be removed so I stopped for this one on the way down.roadrock

I zipped through here as the road was clear.ferns

Daffodils

Back home I let the chickens into the front yard where the daffodils blooms are still coming on.birds

They are looking nicer every day.daffidils

I’d say these guys are in their prime right now.daffs

That was my day. Working in the forest is always nice as I can get some exercise and enjoy the day and I get something done that needs done.

Nice day.

Enjoying your daffodils. Mine are still buried under nearly a foot of snow. It appears that they will bloom very late this year.

Daffy-dills..You lucky guy..I’m looking out at snow up to my eaves, and flakes are still falling…
I guess I’ll just have to wait a little longer for my posies to pop up…
