Puttering on van projects
It was raining again this morning as I got it going.
I put another coat of polyurethane on the fridge cabinet and then went out and started working on getting the new van gauges mounted and hooked up. I worked on that for awhile then I decided to drive on down to Jenner overlook to have a look.
Going to the parts store
I mostly needed to go to the parts house in Monte Rio to get some gas hose to hook the new fridge into the van propane system which was on the way to Jenner. So, I better go today, because tomorrow is Sunday and they will be closed for two days and I didn’t want to wait that long.
I stopped in Monte Rio and got the hose with no problems then continued on towards Jenner.
Red lights up ahead
On the way I ran into a bunch of red lights. I couldn’t see exactly what was going on .The car up there on the left in the road with it’s lights on seemed to be having some trouble. When I drove on through, there was only a small four inch diameter limb on the road, so maybe they tangled with that. Just a few minutes before, the rain was just pouring out of the sky, more than the wipers could handle so they might have gotten into something during that time?
Approaching the town of Jenner
As I approached Jenner, the rain turned to showers, but didn’t let up.
Here I am just about to the town of Jenner. That’s Penny Island across the river there.
Here’s the view I have of Jenner everyday as I enter town.
I pulled into the overlook and rolled my window down to have a look as it was still showering a bunch.
The river’s mouth is wide open. It’s pushed a bunch of sand into the end of the river on the right I think it was just about high tide at this time.
I didn’t see the usual harbor seals laying on the sand. There were only these seagulls resting down there today.
Jenner boat ramp
I drove on back to the Jenner boat ramp and stopped to have a look. Yep, it was still there all right. :O)
Monte Rio boat ramp
I headed on back to Monte Rio and went over to have a look at the boat ramp there.
The ramp is down there under the water twenty or so feet and the road to it is under water too.
I drove by the Monte Rio bridge which looked like this.
It was one of those ducky type days.
Finishing up the cabinet
I went on home and put the last coat of polyurethane on the box so it should be real dry by tomorrow so I can work on getting it mounted in the van.
I need to get the fridge mounted in the van and finish getting the new gauges hooked up. It supposed to rain some more tomorrow so there’s a good chance I’ll get it done.
That was my day.
