Not up to par
Yesterday and today were sorta wasted days. I woke up yesterday not feeling up to par so did a lot of napping and mostly stayed inside.
This morning I was feeling a little better but still not up to par.
I got it going and went out to feed the chickens. I fed them in this grow pen as I want them to help dig it up for planting some seeds soon.
Lots of napping
The day was overcast and it was supposed to shower so since I still wasn’t feeling real good I did a lot of napping and stayed inside most of the day.
Marking the eggs
This morning when I checked on my hen sitting on eggs I found another hen in there laying an egg. I kicked her off the nest and decided I better mark the original eggs so I got out the black marker and put some black marks on the eggs. The eggs take 21 days to hatch and if new eggs are put in there they won’t get time to hatch so now I’ll know which ones are the new ones and can remove them. I wouldn’t mind the extra eggs except this hen is rather small and more eggs would be hard for her to handle as far as keeping them warm.
This is the momma hen on her nest doing her thing now sitting on eggs with some black marks on them.
Grazing
Around noon I went out and let the chickens out to graze for the rest of the day.

Rooster problems
I have three roosters and they mostly get along ok. However I’ve noticed some of my hens have the feathers torn off their backs from the roosters mating. I’m thinking of reducing my roosters and if it keeps up there might not be any roosters. I’ll have to give them a verbal warning.
The rain showers came around 4 but only lightly. A nice spring rain.
